Physical Therapist Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from injuries or managing chronic conditions. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in various settings, including outpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments.

Duties

• Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities as directed by the supervising therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes to the physical therapist.
• Educate patients and their families on care plans and home exercise programs.
• Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with healthcare professionals.
• Apply knowledge of physiology to enhance patient treatment strategies.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-treatment.
• Employ trigger point therapy techniques as needed for pain management.
• Work with pediatric patients, adapting treatments to meet their unique needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings to provide comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or related field from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology is essential.
• Experience in discharge planning and developing care plans preferred.
• Familiarity with trigger point therapy techniques is a plus.
• Previous experience in pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient settings, or home health is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
