Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans for patients across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facilities.
• Perform therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities under supervision.
• Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatment, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.
• Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings through education and tailored exercises.
• Maintain accurate medical terminology records, treatment notes, and progress reports in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, injury prevention, and self-care strategies to enhance recovery outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care that addresses physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and specific needs such as orthopedics or geriatrics.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with current licensure or registration where applicable.
• Proven experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy.
• Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations such as pediatrics, orthopedics, geriatrics, and acute care patients.
• Ability to perform skilled nursing tasks with attention to detail and patient safety.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and coordinate with healthcare teams.
• Prior experience with discharge planning processes and outpatient therapy modalities is highly desirable. Pay: $27.00 - $34.00 per hour
