Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapist Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care across diverse settings. You will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans, assist patients in their recovery journeys, and promote optimal mobility and function. Duties

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing personalized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to reduce pain and improve mobility.
  • Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatments, and communicate observations to the supervising therapist for ongoing plan adjustments.
  • Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings through education and tailored exercise programs.
  • Provide direct patient care in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatments administered, patient responses, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal recovery outcomes.

Skills

  • Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and manual therapy methods.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations including orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and those in acute or outpatient settings.
  • Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient education on exercises, mobility strategies, and discharge instructions.
  • Skilled in using treatment modalities and equipment commonly employed in physiotherapy clinics and hospitals.
  • Prior experience in inpatient facilities or skilled nursing environments is highly desirable. Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
