Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans for patients across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home health visits, and skilled nursing facilities.
- Apply specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy to relieve pain and improve mobility.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition back to daily activities or other care environments.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility techniques, and injury prevention strategies tailored to their needs.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and infection control procedures during therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care that aligns with each patient’s unique physiotherapy goals.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in inpatient or outpatient settings is highly preferred.
- Skilled nursing facility experience or home health background is advantageous for understanding diverse patient needs.
- Familiarity with physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and orthopedic rehabilitation enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential for accurate documentation and effective patient communication.
- Experience with discharge planning, acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics will support your ability to deliver comprehensive care.
