Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient clinic setting. You will assist in implementing treatment plans, ensuring that patients receive the best possible rehabilitation services, particularly in orthopedics and pediatrics. Your knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology will be essential in supporting patient recovery and enhancing their overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide direct patient care by administering therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by the physical therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
- Participate in discharge planning, ensuring that patients have the necessary resources and support for continued recovery at home.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and any relevant medical information.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and self-care strategies to promote independence.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the clinic to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and basic rehabilitation techniques.
- Experience in outpatient settings preferred; familiarity with orthopedic and pediatric care is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating compassion and empathy towards patients.
