Physical Therapist Assistant
Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. The PTA will play an essential role in supporting patients’ rehabilitation goals and enhancing their overall mobility and quality of life.
**The territory for this position includes Brandon, Riverview, and the Plant City area.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring effective, individualized care.
- Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities for patients in geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics, outpatient, and acute care settings.
- Observe, assess, and document patient responses and progress, reporting changes or concerns promptly to the supervising PT.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety precautions, and techniques to promote continued recovery.
- Maintain accurate and thorough treatment records, progress notes, and other required documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members—including RNs, PTs, OTs, and Speech Therapists—to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all patients.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assisting or equivalent education and experience.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Experience in geriatrics, orthopedics, home health, outpatient, or acute care preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team.
