Duties

  • Collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists to develop and execute individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Assist in conducting patient assessments, including evaluating muscle strength, range of motion, and functional mobility.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and other physiotherapy modalities to promote healing and recovery.
  • Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings through education and exercise programs.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly, documenting responses to treatments and adjusting care strategies accordingly.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, injury prevention strategies, and self-care techniques to foster independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatments provided, patient responses, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practices.
  • Experience with inpatient care, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
  • Skilled in various physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and manual therapy.
  • Familiarity with discharge planning processes and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively within diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and acute care patients.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and team coordination.
