Physical Therapist - Talent Acquisition Specialist

Role Overview:

Base salary of $80,000, with performance-based upside bringing typical total compensation to $90,500-$101,000+ annually.

We are looking for a high-performing physical therapist ready to make a broader impact by transitioning into talent acquisition for therapist-led private practices.

This individual will operate the candidate pipeline for HRS-supported practices, serving as the central point of conversion for a national, multi-channel recruiting system. It is a relationship-driven, consultative, and highly technology-enabled position, providing the opportunity to leverage clinical expertise in a high-impact, high reward recruiting role.

**Required for Application**

To be considered, applicants must submit a cover letter addressing the following:

  • Why is therapist-led, therapist-owned private practice critical in today’s physical therapy landscape?
  • Many clinicians today can choose to work for large private equity–backed organizations. How would you explain to a clinician why an HRS-supported private practice may be a better long-term career decision?
  • What do you believe is the most challenging aspect in physical therapy recruiting today?
  • If hired, what is one strategy you would implement in your first 90 days?

**Applications submitted without thoughtful, specific responses will not be reviewed.**

Core Responsibilities:

Candidate Outreach & Relationship Building

  • Lead proactive sourcing, nurture campaigns, and direct outreach via job boards, professional networks, and in-person events such as career fairs.
  • Build long-term relationships with students, residents, and practicing clinicians.
  • Educate candidates on career paths and opportunities within outpatient private practice.
  • Develop and execute career fair strategy, including planning, representation, and follow-up.

Technology & Reporting

  • Serve as the administrator of recruiting platforms including Ashby (ATS), Exxat One, and AI-enabled sourcing tools such as Expa.
  • Maintain a structured, accurate candidate database across systems.
  • Track and analyze KPIs such as engagement, pipeline health, conversion-to-offer, and time-to-fill.

Coaching & Market Insight

  • Utilize candidate insights and recruiting data to coach partner clinic leaders on interview strategy and candidate communication.
  • Analyze market trends, candidate motivations, and talent availability.
  • Partner with leadership and marketing to forecast hiring needs and align pipeline strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) with 3+ years of clinical experience (5+ years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of the differences between independent practices and private equity–backed models within the outpatient physical therapy landscape.
  • Willingness to learn recruiting systems, including ATS platforms, CRM workflows, and data tracking tools.
  • Experience with LinkedIn and professional communication platforms.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, communication and workflow management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board certification or specialization (e.g., OCS, SCS, COMT).
  • Background in clinical leadership, mentorship, or quality improvement.
  • Familiarity with residencies, fellowships, or early-career clinician decision-making.
  • Passion for outpatient private practice physical therapy.
  • Intentionally transitioning out of patient care into a broader impact role.

Compensation:

Base salary is $80,000, plus a $350 bonus for every successful clinical hire placed with an HRS-supported partner practice. With an expected hiring volume of 30-60 placements, total compensation typically ranges from $90,500 to $101,000+, based on performance. Top performers can exceed this range.
