Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapy Assistant, where you will play a vital role in helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement personalized care plans across diverse settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health environments, and skilled nursing facilities. Your expertise in physiotherapy techniques and patient care will directly contribute to positive patient outcomes and enhanced recovery experiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in evaluating patient needs and developing tailored treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and therapeutic exercises to promote healing and mobility.
• Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, adjusting approaches as directed by the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, post-treatment care, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions, patient responses, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Support patients across various populations including geriatrics, orthopedics, and those recovering from acute care or surgeries.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care plans that optimize patient recovery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and the fundamentals of physiotherapy practice.
• Experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics or home health environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of care plans for diverse populations including geriatrics, orthopedics, and patients requiring discharge planning.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
