Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapy Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient recovery and quality of life. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver personalized rehabilitative care across diverse settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health environments, and acute care units. Your hands-on support will help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and achieve their health goals through targeted interventions and compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Administer therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to promote healing and pain relief.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatments, and communicate observations to the supervising therapist for plan adjustments.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for continued care at home or in outpatient settings.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, injury prevention strategies, and post-treatment care to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, update care plans regularly, and adhere to all medical terminology standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, or skilled nursing environments to deliver seamless patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program; current licensure or registration as required by state law.
- Proven experience in physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and other manual therapies.
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and the principles of physiotherapy.
- Hands-on experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics or home health environments.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and managing care plans tailored to diverse populations such as pediatrics or geriatrics.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in acute care or outpatient settings while demonstrating excellent patient care skills.

Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
