Duties

• Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Provide hands-on therapy techniques, including trigger point therapy, to alleviate pain and improve function.
• Support patient care by monitoring progress, documenting responses to treatments, and adjusting interventions as directed.
• Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, mobility techniques, and discharge planning strategies.
• Conduct assessments related to anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to ensure accurate delivery of care.
• Participate in inpatient, outpatient, home health visits, and skilled nursing facility settings to deliver consistent therapy services.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning and coordinate care for patients across various healthcare environments.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology essential for effective patient care.
• Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other manual therapies.
• Experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
• Familiarity with discharge planning processes and managing care plans for diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages and backgrounds while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
• Knowledge of orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, acute care, and outpatient therapy practices enhances your versatility.
