Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Provide hands-on therapy interventions to alleviate pain and improve function.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatments, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and discharge planning to promote continued recovery at home or in outpatient settings.
- Support care coordination efforts by participating in discharge planning, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring seamless patient transitions across care environments.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments administered, patient responses, and clinical observations in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards during all therapy sessions.
Requirements
- Valid certification/licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
- Proven experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy.
- Ability to effectively communicate treatment goals and progress to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Experience with discharge planning processes and familiarity with outpatient therapy protocols.
