Physical Therapy Front Office Receptionist

Physical Therapy San Pedro is a physical therapy & sports performance center located in San Pedro, CA. We are a privately-owned orthopedic and sports physical therapy clinic and are looking for a cheerful, dedicated and experienced individual to join our team! Our staff consists of Doctors of Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Aides and Front Desk Receptionists. We are a gym & fitness center and therefore, our center has kickboxing, circuit training and strength & conditioning classes.

The ideal candidate must be personable, well-spoken and poised with exceptional phone manners. The candidate should be focused, organized and a multi-tasker who thinks quickly on their feet. They must also be kind and an empathetic listener who is customer service driven. Dependability, punctuality and responsibility are crucial. Sales experience at the front desk at a Fitness Center or gym is a plus.

Primary Job responsibility is medical front office support including: insurance verification, claims, insurance authorizations, patient scheduling, answering multi-line phones, faxing, emailing, scanning, filing, Basic office skills, basic math skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel and ability to multitask. Some basic medical billing knowledge is a plus but not required.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance information for new patients and referrals, including clarification of insurance coverage and patient responsibility for services provided
  • Update insurance information for existing patients
  • Obtain pre-authorization for services and procedures
  • Answer questions related to billing and insurance
  • Process insurance claims in our billing software
  • Patient Invoicing and payment collections
  • Work with contracted Billing Team re: denials
  • Weekly A/R call with contracted billing team
  • Send/Receive Fax

Support Duties/Responsibilities

  • Answer phones
  • Follow up with New Inquiries
  • Give new patient/client tours
  • Check-in patients
  • Assist patients/clients with completing New Patient Intake Paperwork
  • Schedule appointments
  • Check-out patients / collect appropriate payments
  • Input new patient/client information into our electronic management system
  • Office organization- cleanliness, supplies, paperwork, mail, laundry
  • Maintain clear genuine communication with current, past and future patients
  • Develop professional relationships with staff, patients and outside referral sources promoting our mission

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Front Office Administration
  • Experience with Insurance Verification and Authorization, Claims, Invoicing, account payable/ receivables (preferred)
  • Experience with Private Insurance, Medicare, Workers Compensation (preferred)
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude, dependable, punctual
  • Time management skills, computer skills
  • Basic understanding of medical/physical therapy terminology is a plus
  • Sales experience at the front desk at a Fitness Center or gym is a plus.

Job Types: Part -Time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4-8 hour shift
  • Day shifts
