Responsibilities
- Support physical therapists by preparing treatment areas, setting up equipment, and assisting with therapeutic exercises.
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical histories and explaining treatment plans clearly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, session details, and clinical notes in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of therapy spaces and equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care plans and discharge procedures.
- Educate patients on post-treatment exercises and home care routines to promote continued recovery outside the clinical setting.
Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to patient service and compassionate patient care.
- Basic understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.
- Previous hospital or clinical experience in inpatient or outpatient settings preferred.
- Knowledge of acute care, post-acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, and sub-acute care environments is highly desirable.
- Experience with intake procedures and working within hospital medicine or outpatient clinics is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team in fast-paced environments.
