About the Role

Heart-Centered Health is seeking a Physician (MD or DO) to provide part-time medical oversight and direct clinical services that support a small, education and career training program for young adults (ages 16–24).

The role provides limited direct care hours combined with medical oversight for the on-site Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical services and oversight approximately 62.5 hours per year (typically one short clinic session monthly or equivalent).
• Serve as collaborating physician for the on-site Nurse Practitioner per North Carolina regulations.
• Review medical documentation, treatment plans, and student health records as needed.
• Provide clinical guidance and consultation to the on-site NP or wellness team.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted North Carolina medical license (MD or DO).
• Current DEA registration.
• Active BLS/CPR certification.
• Professional liability insurance (minimum $1M per occurrence).
• At least 2 years of primary care, family medicine, or community health experience.
• Experience with youth or underserved populations strongly preferred.
• Must successfully complete a federal background check and credential verification prior to assignment.

Schedule

• Approximately 62.5 total hours per year, with flexible scheduling (e.g., monthly clinic visits, chart review time, or virtual collaboration as approved).
• Hours can be distributed across the year based on availability and center needs.
