Physician Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Interventional Pain Medicine Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient assessment, clinical procedures, and medical documentation, with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional patient care across diverse medical settings. The Physician Assistant will be instrumental in managing acute and chronic conditions, performing diagnostic evaluations, and contributing to innovative healthcare practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history documentation.
  • Assist in diagnostic evaluation processes utilizing EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate data collection and record keeping.
  • Provide treatment for acute pain management, perform suturing, and administer injections following aseptic techniques.
  • Manage inpatient and outpatient care across various specialties including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, and primary care settings.
  • Support ventilator management, airway management, and critical care procedures within Level I and Level II trauma centers or NICU/PICU environments.
  • Participate in clinical research and clinical trials to advance medical knowledge and improve patient care standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidentiality of medical records and adhering to data management protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for discharge planning, hospice & palliative care, and post-acute care coordination.
  • Utilize CPT coding and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate billing and documentation of procedures performed.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations, health coaching, infection control practices, and patient education initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Physician Assistant from an accredited program with current licensure to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in hospital medicine, emergency room settings, or critical care environments such as ICU or trauma centers.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with medical imaging and radiology reports is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology necessary for comprehensive patient assessment.
  • Experience performing suturing, IV infusion, phlebotomy, catheterization, gastric lavage, spinal tap procedures, and other invasive techniques.
  • Familiarity with CPT coding standards along with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation purposes.
  • Ability to manage complex cases involving infectious disease care, ventilator support, dialysis procedures, or neonatal ventilator management is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with a commitment to patient-centered care; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are preferred.

Pay: $110,986.16 - $125,000.00 per year
