Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and diagnostic evaluation.
- Assist physicians with procedures such as suturing, injection administration, and dermal fillers, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety.
- Manage acute pain and critical care cases in hospital environments, including ICU and Level I & II trauma centers, utilizing ventilator management and airway techniques.
- Conduct triage in emergency room or urgent care settings, prioritizing patient needs efficiently while collecting detailed data for medical records.
- Document clinical findings accurately using EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support hospital discharge planning, post-acute care coordination, and hospice & palliative medicine services to optimize patient recovery pathways.
- Participate in clinical research and trials related to infectious disease care, pain management, or other specialties; contribute to data collection and analysis for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
- Demonstrated experience with EMR systems like Epic or Cerner; proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding is highly desirable.
- Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine settings; Level I or II trauma center experience preferred.
- Skilled in procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, catheterization, spinal tap, gastric lavage, and ventilator management.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques essential for accurate patient assessment.
- Experience with telehealth platforms and data management tools to support remote consultations and clinical trials.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and HIPAA compliance; ability to work effectively within hospital medicine or outpatient clinics. Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
