Position Overview
A growing healthcare organization in the Orlando area is seeking a Physician Assistant – Rheumatology to support and help expand a rapidly growing specialty clinic and infusion therapy program. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with rheumatologists, clinical leadership, and operational teams to deliver high-quality care to patients with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
This position is ideal for a PA seeking a growth opportunity and interested in being part of one of the fastest-growing multi-specialty physician groups in Central Florida.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical examinations for rheumatologic conditions Diagnose and manage autoimmune and inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and connective tissue disorders Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising rheumatologists Prescribe and monitor medications including DMARDs, biologics, and targeted immunologic therapies Evaluate patients for infusion-based therapies and specialty medications Collaborate with physicians, infusion nurses, and pharmacists to ensure safe and effective therapy management Monitor patient response to treatment and adjust care plans as appropriate Provide patient counseling regarding disease management, medications, and treatment expectations Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with clinical protocols and payer requirements Contribute to the growth and development of the rheumatology and infusion services program as the organization expands
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) Active Florida Physician Assistant license in good standing 2–5+ years clinical experience, preferably in rheumatology, immunology, internal medicine, or specialty care Experience with biologic therapies, autoimmune disease management, or specialty infusion programs preferred Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with physicians and clinical teams Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems preferred
Compensation
- Base salary: $120,000 – $145,000 annually (based on experience) Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to productivity and clinic growth Opportunity to participate in the development of a growing rheumatology and infusion platform within a large multi-specialty medical group
