Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care across various clinical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and satellite clinics. Your expertise will support diagnosis, treatment, and management of diverse medical conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of diseases in the podiatry realm, from fungal toenails to complex deformities and offers both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options. You will collaborate closely with podiatrists to deliver comprehensive care while adhering to all regulatory standards and maintaining patient safety, including nonemergent rounding and consultations at the local hospital.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and identify medical issues.
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions utilizing advanced clinical skills in areas such as deformities, ingrown toenail, and wound care.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations including interpreting laboratory results, medical imaging reports, ICD-10 coding, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Administer injections, medications, and perform procedures such as suturing, wart treatment, ingrown toenail procedures, wound debridement, and postoperative follow ups .
  • Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, and e-MDs while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage in data collection for quality improvement initiatives or public health reporting; utilize CPT coding for billing purposes.

Qualifications

  • Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD-10 coding systems, and diagnostic evaluation methods.
  • Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner or EMDs; telehealth experience is a plus.
  • Skilled in performing procedures including suturing, wound care, ingrown toenails, phlebotomy. Training provided.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient assessment and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience working within hospital environments.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes; experience with medical records management is essential.
