Duties
- Perform detailed physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history intake, and physiological evaluations.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluation processes utilizing EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document findings accurately.
- Administer injections, medications, and treatments including botulinum toxin therapy and other specialized procedures like suturing or dermal fillers.
- Manage acute pain cases and participate in pain management protocols; handle airway management and ventilator support when necessary.
- Conduct triage assessments in emergency room or urgent care settings; coordinate patient flow and prioritize urgent cases effectively.
- Support hospital-based care including ICU, neonatal ventilator management, PICU procedures, and Level I & II trauma center protocols.
- Engage in clinical research activities, data collection for clinical trials, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Contribute to discharge planning, post-acute care coordination, and hospice & palliative medicine services to ensure seamless patient transitions.
Experience
- Proven experience working within hospital environments such as emergency rooms, ICUs (including neonatal ventilator management), or trauma centers (Level I & II).
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Critical care experience including ventilator management, airway management techniques, and use of diagnostic tools such as cardiac catheterization or spinal taps.
- Hands-on experience with outpatient clinics or medical offices providing primary care or specialty services like geriatrics or occupational health.
- Background in managing infectious disease care, participating in clinical trials or research projects; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
- Skilled in performing procedures such as phlebotomy, radiology imaging support, dialysis assistance, or esthetic laser treatments when applicable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, aseptic technique, and physical examination procedures essential for comprehensive patient care.
