Description
Under the direction and responsible supervision of the assigned licensed physician (s)is responsible for providing high quality, comprehensive out-patient primary medical care services to United Medical Centers Family Medicine patients under his/her medical responsibility as per the rules and regulations established by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners( Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners), protocols of the Medical Practice Act of Texas, Medical Bylaws, and clinical guidelines approved by United Medical Centers. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge of the principles of growth and development over a life span. Must be able to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific group of needs, such as those for neonate, infant, pediatric adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations TJC, DSHS, HRSA and PCMH Compliance standards. Requirements
Education:

Graduate of an accredited/approved Physician’s Assistant Program.

Certification by the National commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) preferred.

Current Unrestricted license issue by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners (Texas State Board of Physician assistant Examiners)

CPR certification required
Experience/Training
-
At least one (1) year experience in Family Medicine in an ambulatory care environment preferred, including past experience with hospital privileges and in-patient care.

Knowledge of basic principles of health promotion, prevention and motivation.
