Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history intake using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks
- Assist in diagnostic evaluation through ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures
- Administer injections, medications, including botulinum toxin treatments, and manage airway or ventilator support as needed
- Perform procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, catheterization, spinal taps, and aseptic techniques following established protocols
- Develop and implement treatment plans for acute care cases including ICU, emergency room, trauma center, or hospital medicine settings
- Document patient encounters accurately in medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Participate in clinical research trials related to infectious disease care, pain management, or other specialties to contribute to ongoing medical advancements
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for data management and patient documentation
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation methods
- Experience with hospital environments including ICU (Intensive Care Unit), NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I/II trauma centers
- Skilled in performing physical examinations and patient assessments across diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal ventilator management, and hospice & palliative medicine
- Ability to administer injections safely and effectively while maintaining aseptic technique
- Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate billing and documentation purposes
- Experience with telehealth platforms for remote patient consultations and health coaching sessions
- Knowledge of infection control practices and emergency procedures such as airway management or gastric lavage
- Capable of working in fast-paced outpatient or inpatient settings with a focus on patient care excellence
