Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant for a full-time role based in Bethesda, with flexibility for some remote work. This position offers a dynamic blend of independent clinical practice, collaborative physician support, and surgical first assist responsibilities within a fast-paced orthopedic practice.

The Physician Assistant will manage their own clinic schedule, independently evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions. In addition, the PA will work closely alongside the supervising orthopedic surgeon in clinic, assisting with patient care, treatment planning, follow-up management, and procedural support. The role also includes serving as a first assistant in the operating room for orthopedic surgical procedures.

Daily responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, developing and implementing treatment plans, assisting with procedures and surgeries, documenting patient encounters, collaborating with surgeons and healthcare staff, and educating patients regarding their health, recovery, and rehabilitation plans. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, team-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered orthopedic care.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, with experience supporting both operative and non-operative orthopedic care.
• Ability to independently manage a clinic schedule while collaborating effectively with supervising physicians and healthcare staff.
• Experience serving as a first assistant in orthopedic surgical procedures preferred.
• Competence in conducting comprehensive patient assessments and developing customized treatment plans.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient education and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced clinical and surgical environment.
• Active Physician Assistant licensure in the state of Maryland and certification through the NCCPA.
• Previous orthopedic or musculoskeletal care experience strongly preferred.
