Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA-C)

Position Summary
The Physician Assistant (PA-C) provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to patients with foot and ankle conditions under the supervision of a podiatric physician. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, performing office-based procedures, assisting in surgery, managing postoperative care, and promoting positive patient outcomes through evidence-based medicine and patient education.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Care
- Obtain and document complete medical histories and physical examinations.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including:
- Heel pain and plantar fasciitis
- Tendon injuries
- Arthritis
- Sports injuries
- Diabetic foot conditions
- Wounds and ulcerations
- Fractures and trauma
- Neuromas and nerve disorders
- Ingrown toenails and skin lesions
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies, including X-rays, MRI, CT scans, laboratory tests, and vascular studies.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Prescribe medications and durable medical equipment in accordance with state regulations and clinic protocols.
Procedures
- Perform office-based procedures including:
- Nail avulsions and matrixectomies
- Wound debridement
- Abscess drainage
- Joint and soft tissue injections
- Application of casts, splints, and walking boots
- Biopsies and minor skin procedures
- Assist in surgical procedures in the operating room as needed.
- Provide postoperative evaluations and follow-up care.
Patient Education
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, preventive care, diabetic foot care, wound care, and postoperative instructions.
- Promote patient adherence to treatment plans and lifestyle modifications.
Documentation and Compliance
- Complete accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and clinic regulations.
- Assist with coding and documentation requirements to support accurate billing.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, physical therapists, home health agencies, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinic meetings.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
