Physician Assistant - Jersey City, NJ - Full/Part Time Positions

About the Role:

The Physician Assistant (PA) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality healthcare services across diverse clinical settings. This position involves collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to diagnose, treat, and manage patient health conditions effectively. The PA is responsible for conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. By providing comprehensive care, the PA helps improve patient outcomes, enhances access to medical services, and supports the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery. This role demands a commitment to continuous learning and adherence to ethical standards to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bilingual Spanish Speaking Preferred
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license to practice in the United States.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Current unrestricted DEA CDS
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Urology experience.
  • Experience working in a specialized medical field such as primary care, emergency medicine, or surgery.
  • Advanced certifications relevant to specialty areas (e.g., Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare informatics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care and cultural competence.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations to assess health status.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Prescribe medications and provide patient education on treatment protocols and preventive care.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary to achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate patient care and contribute to clinical decision-making.
  • Stay current with medical advancements and participate in continuing education to maintain certification and licensure.

Skills:

The required clinical skills enable the Physician Assistant to perform comprehensive patient evaluations, interpret diagnostic data accurately, and develop effective treatment plans. Proficiency in prescribing medications and understanding pharmacology ensures safe and appropriate patient care.
