Position: Full-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week

Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, seven days a week

Compensation: $60–$80/hour (based on experience) + bonus

Benefits: Full benefits package available

Position Summary

We are seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in DeSoto, TX . This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that keep skills sharp—without the pressure of inpatient follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
• Code and bill services appropriately
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas PA or NP license
• PA: NCCPA certification
• NP: ANCC or AANP certification (Family Nurse Practitioner required)
• Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to treat patients of all ages
• Active BLS certification
• EHR proficiency
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered)
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
• Strong procedural skills (suturing, splinting, wound care)
• Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
