About the Role
Multnomah Orthopedic Clinic is excited to welcome an experienced Physician Assistant to our team, working alongside Natalie Mesnier, MD, a board-certified orthopedic foot and ankle specialist. This part-time salaried opportunity is perfect for a PA with strong clinical skills, experience in a specialty setting, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

The regular schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The position also includes participation in a shared weekend call rotation with approximately 1 in 6 providers. Weekend call is primarily phone-based, with rare rounding and no emergency room call.
Potential OR time may be incorporated several days per month by after training, credentialing, and practice needs are reviewed.
Primary Responsibilities
· Evaluate and manage orthopedic patients in the outpatient clinic under physician supervision and collaboration.
· Assist with new patient visits, follow-up visits, post-operative care, and treatment planning.
· Support foot and ankle orthopedic care, including history-taking, physical examination, documentation, patient education, and coordination of care.
· Review imaging and diagnostic information with the physician and care team as appropriate.
· Perform or assist with orthopedic procedures within training, competency, licensure, and practice protocols.
· Assist with casting, splinting, bracing, injections, wound checks, and post-operative protocols as appropriate.
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
· Communicate professionally with patients, staff, surgery centers, hospitals, referring offices, and outside vendors.
· Deliver friendly, patient-centered service and help ensure patients feel respected, informed, and well cared for from beginning to end.
· Participate in shared weekend call, primarily by phone, with rare rounding and no ER call.
· Participate in surgical assisting if OR time is added by mutual agreement and after required credentialing is completed.
Required Qualifications
· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
· Current Oregon PA license or ability to obtain Oregon licensure before start date.
· NCCPA certification in good standing.
· Minimum 1-3 years of PA experience preferred; strong candidates with relevant clinical background may be considered.
· Interest in orthopedic foot and ankle care and willingness to learn specialty-specific protocols.
· Ability to work independently while maintaining appropriate collaboration and communication with the physician.
· Strong documentation, patient communication, and follow-through skills.
· Friendly, team-oriented demeanor with the judgment, professionalism, and work ethic needed to be a strong fit for our clinic team.
· Commitment to excellent customer service, patient satisfaction, and clear communication with patients and staff.
· Ability to meet credentialing requirements for clinic, payer enrollment, and surgical facilities if OR time is added.
Preferred Experience
· Orthopedic, musculoskeletal, urgent care, emergency medicine, sports medicine, podiatry, or surgical experience.
· Experience with post-operative care, fracture care, casting/splinting, bracing, injections, wound care, and imaging review.
· Prior OR first-assist experience or interest in becoming credentialed to assist in surgery.
· Experience with athenahealth/AthenaOne or a similar EHR system.
· Regenerative medicine experience helpful.
Compensation and Benefits
· $100,000 annual salary for a 24-hour-per-week schedule, equivalent to approximately $80.13/hour.
· Regular schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
· Shared weekend call rotation, approximately 1 in 6 providers; primarily phone calls, rare rounding, and no ER call.
· Benefits and additional employment terms will be reviewed during the interview and offer process and finalized in the written employment agreement.
· OR/first-assist responsibilities, if added, will be based on mutual agreement, credentialing, training, and practice needs.
Work Setting
· Private orthopedic specialty practice.
· Outpatient clinic in Portland, OR 97213.
· Potential surgical facility work if OR time is added after credentialing.
