ICGH is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our clinical team serving Carteret County and surrounding coastal communities.
This position offers a hybrid model, combining telehealth services with in-person care opportunities at our inpatient and outpatient programs.
Position Overview
The Physician Assistant will provide medical services to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, while also supporting patients with general medical needs related to behavioral health treatment.
This role offers a unique opportunity to practice integrated behavioral and physical healthcare, working closely with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and peer support specialists.
Work Model
This role offers a hybrid schedule, including:

• Telehealth outpatient services
• In-person care opportunities at inpatient programs in Carteret County
• Flexible scheduling depending on provider availability

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct medical evaluations and follow-up visits for patients receiving behavioral health and SUD treatment
• Provide medication management and treatment monitoring in collaboration with supervising physicians and psychiatrists
• Address basic physical medicine needs commonly seen in behavioral health populations
• Support patients receiving medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriate
• Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination with behavioral health clinicians and nursing staff
• Provide in-person clinical support for inpatient or residential programs when scheduled
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in the electronic health record system
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical coordination activities consistent with agency standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Active North Carolina PA license
• DEA registration preferred
• Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or integrated care preferred
• Experience in general physical medicine or primary care required
• Strong collaborative skills working within interdisciplinary teams
• Experience with telehealth or outpatient care settings preferred
