Carolinas Institute for Neurology is seeking a compassionate, motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our expanding outpatient practice. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with an experienced neurologist in a collaborative, physician-led environment that integrates neurology, neurocognitive assessment, and psychiatric services.

We are looking for a provider who values thorough patient care, enjoys working with complex cases, and is interested in expanding their knowledge of cognitive and behavioral health conditions within a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct follow-up neurological, cognitive, and behavioral health evaluations
• Provide medication management and ongoing treatment follow-up within scope of practice
• Evaluate and manage patients with neurological, cognitive, and behavioral health concerns under physician supervision
• Participate in physician-led psychiatric and neurobehavioral services
• Review and integrate neurocognitive testing findings into patient care and treatment planning when appropriate
• Collaborate closely with the supervising physician regarding complex cases, diagnostic impressions, and treatment recommendations
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and prognosis
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant medical documentation within the electronic health record
• Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination with physicians, therapists, psychometric staff, and administrative team members

Training and Professional Development

• Neurocognitive and cognitive screening assessments
• Clinical integration of neurocognitive testing findings
• Dementia and memory disorder evaluations
• Behavioral and psychiatric presentations commonly encountered in neurological practice
• Collaborative physician-led care models

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license
• DEA registration
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
• Interest in neurology, cognitive disorders, psychiatry, or behavioral medicine preferred

Physician-Led Care Model

All diagnostic decision-making, treatment planning, and specialty clinical oversight are conducted within a physician-led model under the supervision of an experienced neurologist.
