Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Spravato (Esketamine) / Int

Harbor Psychiatry & Mental Health is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our Spravato (esketamine) and intranasal ketamine treatment team. This role is primarily focused on the evaluation, management, and monitoring of patients undergoing ketamine-based therapies for treatment-resistant depression and related conditions.

We are a large single-specialty outpatient clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive, innovative, and patient-centered mental health care throughout Orange County. Position Overview:

This provider will play a key role in our Spravato /IN ketamine psychiatry program, working closely with clinical staff to ensure safe and effective administration of Spravato treatments. The role emphasizes patient safety, adherence to REMS protocols, and close clinical monitoring throughout the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations to determine eligibility for Spravato / intranasal ketamine treatment
  • Provide patient education and obtain informed consent prior to initiation of therapy
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising psychiatrists
  • Oversee Spravato treatment days, including pre-treatment assessment and post-administration monitoring
  • Monitor for adverse effects including dissociation, sedation, and blood pressure changes
  • Ensure compliance with FDA REMS program requirements and clinic protocols
  • Assess treatment response and adjust care plans accordingly
  • Provide ongoing psychotropic medication management as appropriate
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation

Patient Population:

Primarily high-functioning adults and adolescents seeking treatment for:

  • Treatment-resistant depression
  • Mood disorders
  • Anxiety disorders
  • ADHD and related conditions

Requirements:

  • Active California license (PA-C or PMHNP-BC)
  • DEA license required
  • Experience in psychiatric medication management
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to patient safety
  • Interest in Spravato and ketamine-based treatments (training provided)

Compensation:

Salary: $145,600 to $187,200 / year
Hourly Equivalent: $70.00 – $90.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
