We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing multidisciplinary pain management team in Bowie, Maryland. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced provider who is passionate about helping patients regain function, improve mobility, and enhance their quality of life through comprehensive, evidence-based pain management. The ideal candidate will have experience in pain management, orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), family medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine, or a related specialty. Candidates with procedural experience and a strong commitment to patient-centered care are encouraged to apply. As a Physician Assistant, you will work closely with our pain management physicians and clinical staff to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions. You will provide comprehensive assessments, medication management, patient education, and follow-up care while participating in a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to treatment. This role offers the opportunity to gain advanced experience in interventional pain management while making a meaningful impact on patients' lives every day.Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including detailed histories and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pain conditions, including:
  • Neck and back pain
  • Radiculopathy and neuropathic pain
  • Joint and musculoskeletal disorders
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Arthritis
  • Post-surgical pain
  • Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)
  • Work-related and personal injury conditions
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Monitor patient outcomes, treatment effectiveness, and medication compliance
  • Review and maintain compliance with Maryland PDMP requirements
  • Perform or assist with:
  • Trigger point injections
  • Joint injections
  • Ultrasound-guided procedures (preferred)
  • Educate patients regarding treatment options, medication safety, lifestyle modifications, and non-pharmacological pain management strategies
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, psychologists, surgeons, and referring providers
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives

QualificationsRequired

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active Maryland Physician Assistant License
  • NCCPA Certification
  • Current DEA Registration (or ability to obtain)
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities

Preferred

  • 2+ years of Physician Assistant experience
  • Prior experience in Pain Management, Orthopedics, PM&R, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
  • Experience performing injections or assisting with interventional procedures
  • Knowledge of chronic pain treatment protocols and opioid stewardship
  • ACLS Certification
  • Experience with EMR systems

Experience

  • Physician Assistant: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Pain Management: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Orthopedics, PM&R, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification

  • Maryland Physician Assistant License (Required)
  • NCCPA Certification (Required)
  • DEA Registration (Required or eligible to obtain)
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • ACLS Certification (Preferred)
