Physician Assistant-PA or Nurse Practitioner-NP

Job Overview

Join our dynamic neurology team as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional neurological care. Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and vital signs documentation using EMR systems such as Epic or Athena.
  • Perform neurological evaluations and diagnostic evaluations, including reflex testing, cranial nerve assessments, and motor-sensory examinations.
  • Assist with procedures such as nerve blocks, botulinum toxin treatments for spasticity, HA or dystonia.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Cerner or Athena; ensure compliance with coding standards such as CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9 for billing purposes.
  • Provide telehealth consultations utilizing telehealth platforms to extend neurological services remotely across diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with valid state licensure in neurology or related specialty areas.
  • Demonstrated experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athena; proficiency in medical records management and data collection.
  • Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to neurology practice.
  • Experience administering injections (including botulinum toxin), and managing acute pain or neurological emergencies.
  • Critical care experience preferred, including ICU or emergency medicine settings; familiarity with ventilator management and airway techniques.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding standards for accurate billing; experience with out patient coding practices is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform physical examinations thoroughly and efficiently assess patient needs in outpatient environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education on health coaching topics such as medication administration, disease management, and lifestyle modifications.
