Physician Assistant - Pulmonology

1. Role Summary

A Physician Assistant supports doctors in providing patient care, ensures smooth clinical operations, assists in procedures, and coordinates with nursing and diagnostic teams for efficient service delivery.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Patient Care

• Assist doctors during patient examinations, treatment, and follow-ups.
• Take patient history, perform basic clinical assessments, and document findings.
• Monitor patient progress and update the physician regularly.
• Provide patient education on treatment, medications, and follow-up care.

B. Clinical Support

• Prepare patients for procedures and assist during minor surgeries and diagnostic tests.
• Perform basic medical procedures such as wound dressing, IV line assistance, vital monitoring, injections, etc. (Depending on hospital policy)
• Coordinate with nursing staff, lab, radiology, and pharmacy for timely service.

C. Documentation & Records

• Maintain accurate patient records, case sheets, consent forms, and reports.
• Enter data into EMR/HIS (Hospital Information System).
• Ensure proper documentation for NABH compliance.

D. Coordination & Communication

• Communicate effectively with Consultants, Nurses, and Technicians.
• Explain treatment plans to patients and attend to their queries.
• Support the doctor in daily rounds and discharge processes.

E. Administrative & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, infection control, and safety guidelines.
• Assist in managing OPD/ward workflow during peak hours.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards.

3. Skills & Competencies

• Basic computer skills (EMR/HIS)

• Knowledge of infection control & basic medical procedures

4. Educational Qualification

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. Physician Assistant
• OR
• Diploma in Physician Assistant (as per hospital requirement)5. Experience Requirement
• 0–3 years for junior PA

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
