Physician Assistant/Family Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to establish accurate diagnoses.
  • Manage a broad spectrum of clinical procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and sterile processing techniques.
  • Administer medications and injections.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Practice Fusion for documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and medical records management.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing, sonography, and medical imaging to support clinical decision-making.
  • Provide acute care services.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to extend care beyond traditional settings while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Collaborate with specialists in areas such as gastroenterology, infectious disease care, geriatrics, behavioral health, and hospice & palliative medicine to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Participate in case management activities including discharge planning, utilization review, and coordination of post-acute care services.
  • Support patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes or heart disease through health coaching and education initiatives.
  • Licensure:
  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist curriculum.
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant curriculum.
  • Hold and maintain a current and unencumbered Wahington license.
  • Hold certification by a governing board (i.e., ANCC, etc.) to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Hold certification by a governing board (i.e., NCCPA, etc.) to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  • Possess a current and unencumbered DEA; and have the ability to obtain dispensing privileges with-in 30 days of hire.
  • Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics.
  • Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects, and contraindications.
  • In depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and best medicine practices.
  • Current participation with insurance carriers desired.
  • Experience
  • Primary care experience: Demonstrated experience in outpatient or primary care settings (pediatrics through geriatrics).
  • Patient assessment & diagnosis: Proficiency in performing comprehensive history taking, physical exams, and differential diagnosis.
  • Chronic disease management: Experience managing conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, and other common chronic illnesses.
  • Acute care management: Ability to recognize, evaluate, and manage acute illnesses and injuries.
  • Preventive care & health promotion: Administering immunizations, screenings, and counseling on wellness and lifestyle modifications.
  • Pharmacologic management: Knowledge of prescribing and managing medications safely across the lifespan.
  • Procedural skills: Experience performing basic office procedures (e.g., wound care, suturing, incision & drainage, EKGs, point-of-care testing).

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
