POSITION: Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner- Interventional Pain Management
REPORTS TO: Rajesh Sharma, MD
Freedom Spine & Pain Center is a physician-led interventional pain and spine practice serving the greater San Antonio area and Texas Hill Country. We are seeking an experienced, self-directed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to help carry a busy, procedure-driven clinic. This is a high-autonomy role with significant procedural exposure and a compensation structure that rewards production. It is a seasoned-clinician position — not an entry-level role.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $145,000–$155,000, commensurate with experience and procedural skill.
- Production Bonus: With potential to earn $185k+ with the appropriately motivated candidate
- Benefits: malpractice coverage, license and DEA reimbursement, paid time off, retirement plan, and health benefits
- Schedule: Monday–Friday. No nights, no weekends, no call.
What You'll Do
- Manage a clinic panel under physician supervision — new evaluations, follow-ups, and medication management —
- Evaluate patients for and post interventional and spine procedures: injection therapies (medial branch blocks, ESI, RFA), kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, spinal cord stimulator trials and permanent implants, Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression (MILD), sacroiliac joint fusion, and posterolateral lumbar fusion — including wound care, neuromuscular exams, and recognition of complications.
- Perform in-clinic therapeutic procedures: trigger-point injections and intra-articular/joint injections (shoulder, knee, bursa) and related modalities.
- Continue and implement individualized treatment plans; counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, wellness, and pain management.
- Work comfortably in a fluoroscopy/C-arm environment.
- Document accurately and on time in our EMR (eClinicalWorks).
- Support volume across our Boerne (≈80%) and Kerrville (≈20%) locations.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as a PA or NP in interventional pain, spine, or orthopedics. This is not a new-graduate position.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and effectively carry a patient panel — self-directed, organized, and dependable.
- Strong procedural and injection skills, plus competence managing post-operative spine and neuromodulation patients.
- Productivity-minded — motivated by, and able to thrive within, a production-based compensation model.
- A low-friction professional: excellent judgment and communication, collaborative with staff, and someone who makes the clinic run more smoothly rather than adding to its workload.
Credentials
- Active Texas PA or NP license in good standing (NPs: current prescriptive authority / board certification).
- Valid DEA registration.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (ACLS a plus).
- PA: NCCPA-certified; NP: appropriate national board certification.
Why Join Us
- High procedural exposure and a supportive collaborative environment.
- Strong base salary with production bonus — your effort is directly rewarded.
- Monday–Friday, no call — a sustainable schedule uncommon in procedural specialties.
- A collegial, physician-led practice with low bureaucracy and room to grow as we expand.
