Physician Liaison – Business Development

Location: California or Nevada (Hybrid: 50% Remote / 50%+ Travel (by car/air))
Department: Growth & Outreach
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (or Chief Growth Officer, if applicable)

Position Summary:

Lux Dermatology is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Physician Liaison to lead and expand our business development efforts across California and Nevada. This strategic, field-facing role is essential to driving patient acquisition by cultivating, strengthening, and managing relationships with referral sources in existing and growth markets. The ideal candidate is a dynamic sales and outreach professional with a proven track record in physician relations, healthcare business development, and multi-location territory management.

Key Responsibilities:

Referral Development & Growth Strategy (50%)

  • Identify, target, and secure new referring providers, clinics, and medical groups in assigned territories
  • Develop and execute regional outreach plans to increase referral volume to dermatology clinics
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with PCPs, Allergists, Pediatricians, urgent care centers, OB/GYNs, internists, and other relevant specialties
  • Monitor and report on referral trends, lead sources, and growth opportunities

Relationship Management (30%)

  • Act as the face of the organization to external providers, practice administrators, and local health networks
  • Conduct in-person visits and ongoing check-ins with key referral sources
  • Manage outreach to re-engage lost or split referral partners
  • Organize provider appreciation and educational events to deepen referral loyalty

Sales Reporting & Market Intelligence (10%)

  • Track referral conversions and ROI of outreach activities via CRM tools or internal dashboards
  • Report market trends, competitor movement, and local provider shifts to executive leadership
  • Support strategic territory expansions with boots-on-the-ground data and relationship mapping

Brand Building & Cross-Team Collaboration (10%)

  • Serve as a regional ambassador for the Lux Dermatology brand and its core differentiators
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and clinical teams to align outreach efforts with internal priorities
  • Assist in the development of marketing collateral, presentations, and event materials tailored to local provider audiences

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of sales or outreach experience in the healthcare space, ideally in dermatology, aesthetics, or specialty care
  • Proven ability to grow and maintain referral pipelines across multiple markets
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with high emotional intelligence
  • Comfort with solo travel and the discipline to manage a self-directed outreach schedule
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 50–70% of the time throughout California and Nevada
  • Proficient in CRM, Excel, and PowerPoint; ModMed experience a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Existing network or referral contacts in California/Nevada medical communities
  • Experience navigating both cash-pay and insurance-based healthcare models
  • Familiarity with dermatology, aesthetics, Mohs surgery, and medical specialties that frequently refer into derm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
