Physician (MD) - Neonatologist

Location: Elmira, NY

Pay: $250,000 - $325,000 annually

Shift: 24Hour FTE schedule is 8 / 24-hour in-house shifts (block scheduling - open to commuters)


Overview:


We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician (MD) to join the Neonatologist team of a respected healthcare organization. This role is ideal for healthcare professionals looking to work in a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities/Job Requirements:


  • Provide neonatal care as a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neonatologist
  • Work as part of a team while adhering to evidence-based clinical guidelines
  • Provide high quality patient care in the NICU setting
  • Work 8 24-hour in-house shifts using block scheduling
  • Provide coverage for transport calls
  • Attend high risk deliveries
  • Assess critically-ill newborns in the NICU
  • Utilize conventional ventilation and HFOV as needed
  • Collaborate with nursing support and pediatric sub-specialty teams for consults and in-house services
  • Manage patient care in a 20-bed Level-III NICU
  • Handle approximately 300 NICU admissions annually
  • Manage transport admissions from referring hospitals
  • Maintain Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics
  • Maintain Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Maintain valid New York state licensure
  • Obtain and maintain DEA registration
  • Complete facility-specific provider clearance requirements

Qualifications:

  • Active Physician (MD) license in good standing (state-specific)
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant Neonatologist experience preferred
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
