Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician (MD) to join the Neonatologist team of a respected healthcare organization. This role is ideal for healthcare professionals looking to work in a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient-centered care.
Note: This is a direct placement opportunity. Travelers will not be considered for this role. The selected candidate will be hired directly by our client. Benefits and other employment terms may vary.
Key Responsibilities/Job Requirements:
- Provide exceptional neonatal intensive care in a 40-bed Level III NICU
- Collaborate with a dedicated group of Neonatologists providing continuous 24/7 in-house coverage
- Utilize advanced therapies such as HFOV (High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation), HFJV (High-Frequency Jet Ventilation), inhaled nitric oxide, and therapeutic hypothermia
- Work alongside on-site pediatric surgery and cardiology specialists to ensure comprehensive care
- Coordinate with a nurse-led neonatal transport team for patient transfers and emergency situations
- Deliver care in a single-family room NICU model that prioritizes family-centered care
- Focus exclusively on NICU patients with no requirement to cover the newborn nursery
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and collaborative clinical research
- Contribute to a team culture that values innovation, education, and compassionate family support
- Maintain Board Certification in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
- Obtain and maintain Virginia medical license
- Maintain clean malpractice and license history
- Provide weekend coverage as part of the 24/7 in-house rotation schedule
Qualifications:
- Active Physician (MD) license in good standing (state-specific)
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant Neonatologist experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
