Physician (MD) - Ophthalmologists

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Pay: Negotiable

Shift: Days MON - FRI 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician (MD) to join the Ophthalmologists team of a respected healthcare organization. This role is ideal for healthcare professionals looking to work in a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient-centered care.

Note: This is a direct placement opportunity. Travelers will not be considered for this role. The selected candidate will be hired directly by our client. Benefits and other employment terms may vary.

Key Responsibilities/Job Requirements:

  • Provide comprehensive Neuro-Ophthalmological and medical evaluation of diseases that affect the visual pathways and control of eye movements
  • Diagnose and treat visual problems related to the nervous system
  • Diagnose and treat unexplained or sudden vision loss
  • Perform Neuro-Ophthalmologic testing such as visual acuity, visual field testing, pupillary reactivity, color perception, ocular alignment and optical coherence tomography
  • Provide comprehensive patient and family education
  • Work within a strong interdisciplinary model of care with RN, MA, Neuro-Ophthalmology technicians, MSW, Patient Support Coordinator, PT, OT, and Vestibular Rehab
  • Participate in Multiple Sclerosis Society Partner in MS Care program
  • Conduct General Neurology visits as practice builds
  • Maintain board certification within required timeframes
  • Maintain valid state licensure
  • Maintain current BLS certification
  • Maintain DEA registration
  • Provide compassionate care focused on healing the mind, body, and spirit
  • Develop personalized treatment plans with each patient
  • Utilize state-of-the-art technology and latest techniques in patient care

Qualifications:

  • Active Physician (MD) license in good standing (state-specific)
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant Ophthalmologists experience preferred
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
