Schedule and Work Life Balance

  • Full-time physicians work five eight-hour shifts per week (8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday) with no on-call obligations.
  • Enjoy weekends off to rest and recharge.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: Hourly pay range of $115–$140 (approximately $239,000–$291,000 per year, based on a 40-hour work week). In addition to the hourly rate, productivity incentives reward physicians for high-quality care and efficient clinic operations. Sign-on and relocation bonuses may be available for high-priority clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive urgent care services to patients across the lifespan, from birth through older adulthood.
  • Perform advanced procedures, including laceration repair, fracture management, wound care, and abscess drainage.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including radiography and laboratory studies, and prescribe medications appropriately.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care, ensuring clear discharge instructions.
  • Document encounters in the electronic medical record and work collaboratively with clinicians and staff to maintain efficient clinic flow.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with an active Alabama medical license.
  • Board certification or eligibility in family medicine, emergency medicine, or a related specialty.
  • Active DEA registration and ACLS, BL, S, and PALS certifications.
  • Minimum two years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or related clinical practice preferred; new physicians may be considered with appropriate training and mentorship.
  • DOT Medical Examiner certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and comfortable managing a high patient volume.
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient-first approach.
