Primary Care Physician – Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center

Location: Clarksburg, WV (including Community-Based Outpatient Clinics in Gassaway, Parkersburg, Parsons, and Westover)
Role: Primary Care Physician (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | On-site
Contract Type: Base 6 months with 6-month option period

Job Summary:
The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center is seeking Board-Certified Primary Care Physicians to provide high-quality care to Veterans. Physicians will perform comprehensive primary care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education, adhering to VA policies and best practices. Approximately 95% of time will be direct patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver primary care services consistent with Board Certification standards

• Manage patient panels in outpatient clinics and CBOCs

• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with VA documentation requirements

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications:

• Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (or board-eligible with documentation)

• Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or DC

• DEA Certificate

• Current ACLS & BLS certifications

• National Provider Identifier (NPI)

• Strong communication skills in English

• Ability to meet VA credentialing, privileging, and CME requirements

COMPENSATION: $150.00 per hour
