POSITION SUMMARY

The Physician Recruiter leads the development and execution of a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract and hire qualified Providers across all locations. This role manages the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and coordinating onboarding activities for new Providers. The Physician Recruiter also oversees recruitment efforts for Provider support staff to ensure operational effectiveness. In addition, this position designs and implements Provider retention initiatives that align with the mission and values of Christ Community Health, fostering long-term engagement and workforce stability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead and coordinate a comprehensive Provider recruitment program for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, behavioral health consultants, dentists, and other clinical Providers to ensure appropriate staffing levels aligned with the strategic goals of Christ Community Health Services (CCHS).
  • Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to attract qualified Provider candidates. Oversee and monitor recruitment efforts across all clinic locations to ensure timely and successful hiring outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of candidate activity, sourcing strategies, and recruitment metrics within the applicant tracking system.
  • Represent CCHS at job fairs, conferences, and professional networking events. Cultivate and maintain relationships with medical schools, dental schools, residency programs, and undergraduate institutions to build long-term Provider pipelines.
  • Pre-screen and pre-qualify physician candidates by verifying availability, licensure, credentialing status, malpractice history, and privileging requirements prior to executive-level interviews.
  • Facilitate a seamless onboarding and transition process for newly hired Providers, ensuring consistent communication and follow-up to support successful integration.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and market conditions related to healthcare recruitment and Provider retention.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate retention strategies aimed at increasing long-term Provider engagement, satisfaction, and organizational commitment.
  • Partner with the Human Resources team to assess and monitor Provider job satisfaction and engagement through longitudinal tracking and feedback initiatives.
  • Conduct preliminary interviews and candidate assessments to evaluate qualifications, cultural alignment, and mission fit.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Provider candidate database to support ongoing and future recruitment needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Clinical Officer and Clinical Chairs to align recruitment strategies with organizational priorities and clinical workforce planning goals.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to leadership and key stakeholders regarding recruitment progress, candidate pipelines, and hiring outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant healthcare recruitment experience. Preferred: Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Healthcare Administration

Experience: 3–5 years of healthcare recruiting experience required, with demonstrated success in full-cycle recruitment. 2–4 years of direct physician recruitment experience required, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding coordination.

Candidates should have a proven ability to attract and engage high-quality Providers while managing multiple searches in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Skills and Abilities: Familiarity with medical environments and recruitment of medical positions. Experience recruiting exempt and non-exempt positions. Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills including intermediate level Excel efficiency. Proven record of recruitment successes.

Licenses or Certifications: Certification in healthcare or physician recruitment (e.g., CPRP – Certified Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional)

On-the-Job Travel:
Incumbent is expected to spend approximately 5–10% of work time traveling to CCHS clinics and participating in external recruitment activities, including job fairs, conferences, and other talent acquisition events.
