Sports Medicine Physician
Orthopedic Institute of Santa Barbara is looking for a board certified physician with additional sports medicine certification for a full-time musculoskeletal, surgical clinical position. Orthopedic Institute is a leading orthopedic practice serving the Santa Barbara community with special emphasis in Arthroplasty and sports medicine with deep ties in the local and professional athletic field.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the patients care from diagnoses to full recovery to include: consultation services, pain management, medical procedures, physical therapy, surgery, education, prescriptions and course of treatment
- Work with the patient needs and requirements in pre-operative, operative and post-operative care
- Assist is the development and management of the practices fracture clinic
- Preform casting and DME duties to enhance the patients best recovery results
- Work with the staff to record all appropriate visit notes in the EMR system and to insure correct ICD10 coding
- Community work with local private and public high school and collegiate sports programs, to include physicals, training programs and game days.
Position Requirements:
- MD degree, with preferred experience in orthopedics
- Board Certified in Sports Medicine
- Current active medical license: State of California issued
- Current with required CME’s to hold State of California Medical License and Sport Medicine Certification
- Qualifying Credentials to be appointed to local medical institutions
- Excellent patient communication
- Bilingual (medical Spanish) is a plus
- Full-time position in Santa Barbara, CA
