- Set up physics experiments and demonstrations as per the curriculum and teacher instructions.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment and other apparatus, are in good working condition.
- Manage the inventory of lab equipment, chemicals, and other materials, ensuring that supplies are adequately stocked.
- Assist the physics teacher during laboratory sessions, helping to guide and supervise students while they perform experiments.
- Explain the correct usage of laboratory equipment and demonstrate proper techniques for conducting experiments safely and effectively.
- Provide individual or group assistance to students to help them understand the principles and procedures of experiments.
- Monitor student activity in the lab to ensure adherence to safety protocols and prevent accidents
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including the use of safety goggles, gloves, and other protective equipment when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized lab environment, adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.
- Educate students on safety procedures and emergency protocols specific to the physics lab.
- Maintain detailed records of all experiments, including setup, procedures, results, and any anomalies observed during the experiments.
- Collaborate with physics teachers to develop new experiments and demonstrations that enhance the learning experience.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, including diagrams, charts, and handouts, that aid in the understanding of physics concepts.
- Participate in departmental meetings to discuss laboratory requirements and improvements.
- Assist in the budgeting process by providing a list of required laboratory supplies and equipment for the upcoming academic year.
- Stay updated on new laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety practices by attending workshops, training sessions, or relevant courses.
- Encourage students to engage actively in laboratory work by fostering a curiosity-driven and inquiry-based approach to learning.
- Provide feedback to students on their laboratory performance and help them improve their experimental skills.
- Assist in the development and testing of new experiments or instructional methods to improve laboratory learning experiences.
