1. Summary/Objective
The Physiotherapist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical disabilities, movement dysfunctions, and pain resulting from injury, disease, or surgery. The goal is to restore, maintain, and promote optimal physical function, health, and wellness.
2. Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to determine the patient's physical condition, functional limitations, and rehabilitation goals.
- Review patient medical history, records, and relevant diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs).
- Formulate a professional diagnosis based on clinical findings.
- Treatment Planning and Implementation:
- Develop, document, and implement individualized treatment programs based on the patient's condition and goals.
- Utilize a variety of treatment techniques, including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy (e.g., joint mobilization, massage), electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy.
- Educate patients and their families on their condition, treatment plans, and self-management strategies.
- Progress Monitoring and Documentation:
- Monitor, evaluate, and modify treatment plans as necessary to maximize patient progress and ensure goals are met.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient records, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (e.g., physicians, nurses, occupational therapists) to ensure holistic patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members regarding the patient's status and care plan.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment.
3. Required Qualifications and Education
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy (or Physiotherapy) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience is preferred," or "New graduates are welcome to apply"
