Job Summary

The Physiotherapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing physiotherapy treatment programs for inpatients and outpatients to restore, maintain, and improve physical function and mobility. The role involves working closely with consultants, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ physical condition, mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on medical diagnosis and patient needs.
  • Provide physiotherapy treatment in departments such as ICU, Orthopedics, Neurology, Cardiology, Pediatrics, and General Medicine.
  • Conduct post-operative rehabilitation programs.
  • Administer therapies including manual therapy, electrotherapy, exercise therapy, chest physiotherapy, and pain management techniques.
  • Monitor and document patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients and families regarding home exercise programs and preventive care.

Coordination & Teamwork

  • Work in coordination with consultants, nursing staff, and other allied health professionals.
  • Participate in ward rounds and case discussions when required.
  • Assist in discharge planning and rehabilitation counseling.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Follow hospital infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and safe handling of physiotherapy equipment.
  • Comply with hospital policies, quality standards, and accreditation requirements (NABH, if applicable).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) / Master of Physiotherapy (MPT)
  • 0–2 years of experience
  • Experience in hospital-based physiotherapy preferred.
