With opportunities at all our RAAFA locations, this role as a Physiotherapist will make a meaningful difference every day by supporting the physical and mobility functions of residents and designing and implementing physiotherapy programs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop meaningful relationships with residents ensuring their needs, interests, routines and preferences are respected.
  • Assess the physical and mobility functioning of residents.
  • Plan and implement appropriate treatment and activity programs taking into account resident preferences, medical requirements, input from other health professionals and service policy and procedures.
  • Identify, document and report on resident wellbeing and any change in status ensuring the electronic healthcare management system is updated.
  • Monitor equipment and ensure that necessary repairs and maintenance are carried out.
  • Assist in the implementation of therapy programs including group and individual activities.
  • Supervise Therapy Assistants and volunteers who are assisting with the program.
  • Assist in the education and training of all staff in safe manual handling techniques.
  • Communicate with Allied Health and Clinical teams on the outcome of programs for the residents.
About You
  • Possess a Bachelor's or Master's in Physiotherapy.
  • Current registration with the Australian Association of Physiotherapists.
  • Awareness of the Australian Association of Physiotherapists legal ethics regarding the scope of responsibility.
  • Previous experience working in Residential Aged Care.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
  • Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
  • Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, their families and staff.
