1. Clinical Assessment and Therapy Planning
Assess physiotherapy needs of elderly individuals referred through home visits, Virtual OPD consultations, or geriatric units.
Design individualized and tailored physiotherapy plans.
Modify therapy plans based on progress, comfort, and feedback from elderly individuals and caregivers.
2. Physiotherapy Service Delivery
Provide physiotherapy services through:
o
Home-based physiotherapy for immobile and bedridden elderly
o
Community-based group therapy sessions
Deliver safe, age-appropriate exercises focusing on mobility, pain reduction, joint flexibility, circulation, and functional independence.
Support prevention of complications such as joint stiffness, reduced mobility, and bedsores.
3. Bedridden and Limited-Mobility Care
•
Plan and conduct gentle bedside physiotherapy including passive movements, stretching, breathing exercises, and positioning techniques.
•
Monitor physical response and escalate cases requiring medical attention or referral.
4. Family and Caregiver Engagement
•
Educate family members and caregivers on prescribed exercises and supportive techniques.
•
Encourage active family participation to improve long-term outcomes.
5. Coordination and Teamwork
•
Work closely with Community Officers and Cluster Coordinators for scheduling, logistics, and follow-up visits.
•
Coordinate with doctors through Virtual OPD for assessment, referrals, and treatment guidance.
•
Participate in group therapy planning and field-based interventions.
6. Documentation and Reporting
•
Maintain accurate records of assessments, therapy plans, sessions conducted, and patient progress.
•
Provide regular updates to the program team as per reporting formats and timelines.
•
Support monitoring and evaluation through documentation of outcomes and improvements.
7. Ethical and Professional Practice
•
Adhere strictly to program SOPs, safety guidelines, and ethical standards.
•
Respect the dignity, privacy, and autonomy of elderly individuals.
•
Maintain professionalism in community, home, and institutional settings.

Qualifications and Experience
•
Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (BPT) from a recognized institution
•
Registration with relevant statutory council (where applicable)
•
Experience in geriatric physiotherapy or community-based healthcare preferred
•
Experience with bedridden or mobility-impaired patients desirable
