Physiotherapy Technician

The Physiotherapy Technician works under the supervision of a licensed Physiotherapist and is responsible for supporting treatment delivery, monitoring patient responses, and documenting relevant clinical data. The Technician does not independently assess, diagnose, or modify treatment plans beyond delegated instructions.

Education

• Accredited Diploma in Physiotherapy (minimum 2 years) – Physiotherapy Assistant

OR

• Associate of Science in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution

Experience Requirements

• Overseas candidates: Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in physiotherapy services

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Physiotherapist in delivering patient/client treatments, therapeutic activities, and retraining programs according to the prescribed care plan, with awareness of diagnosis, precautions, and contraindications.
• Support routine evaluations conducted by the Physiotherapist by collecting observational and functional data and reporting any changes in patient/client behavior, condition, or performance.
• Supervise and guide patients/clients during prescribed exercises and activities, individually or in group settings, under the direction of the Physiotherapist.
• Assist in therapy sessions requiring two or more staff members for safety, including patient positioning, transfers, and manual handling.
• Ensure patient/client safety, comfort, and proper use of therapeutic equipment during treatment sessions.
• Document interventions, observations, and patient responses in the medical record in accordance with scope of role and facility policies.
• Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and administration of physiotherapy equipment and facilities, including gymnasium, hydrotherapy pool, and other treatment areas as assigned.
• Apply splints, walking aids, and supportive devices under the direct instruction and supervision of the Physiotherapist.
• Maintain infection control standards, equipment hygiene, and a safe treatment environment at all times.

Pay: QAR4,000.00 - QAR5,500.00 per month
