Pick up and Trailer Driver

Pickstock Telford Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a Livestock Driver.

A Pick Up and Trailer Driver transporting cattle between farms, collection centres and the abattoir.

Knowledge, skills and attributes

• Enjoy practical work.
• Mechanical attitude.
• Able to drive safely.
• Able to cope with the physical demands of the job.
• Meet any age restrictions that may apply.
• Essential to have experience moving livestock (Cattle)

Duties and Tasks

• Loading and unloading livestock, while applying best practice methods to avoid injury and undue stress to animals.
• Performing routine vehicle inspection and maintenance.
• Maintaining logbooks and records.
• Drive defensively and handle hazardous road conditions.
• Couple and uncouple trailers.
• Perform pre- and mid-trip vehicle and security inspections.
• Carry out administrative duties, such as collecting fuel receipts, completing daily run sheets and pre-start checks.
• You will be expected to keep your vehicle and trailer in a good, clean condition.
• Completing wash and disinfection between each load.

· Transport of Animals Licence
